Grid-Connected Solar PV Systems are the most common form of solar installed in Australia. The inverter converts the electricity generated by the solar panels from DC into AC electricity which powers your home. Grid-connected solar systems will use the solar generated power first before sourcing electricity from the grid. If the solar generated power is unused, it can be sold back to the grid for credit. At night, when the panels are not producing power, electricity is supplied from the grid.
